Diy Minky Blanket

I tied my yarn in a double knot and trimmed it to about an inch. I determined to go with orange yarn in the heart of each blue square. I appreciated the contrasting colours, already had orange yarn, and thought 1/three of the patches would be sufficient. You could do more or less, or do the corners instead of the middle of the squares, whatever appears right in your blanket.
Now you wish to minimize two inch long slits which might be one inch apart, just like the picture below. It helps to have an extended yardstick for this half. As I did this, I found that minky is tough stuff.
I couldn’t pull my threaded yarn needle by way of it simply and with all my pulling, I was making a very giant gap on the flannel side. I poked by way of an empty needle first to make an entire, then put the yarn needle via.
I just went gradual and was careful to keep the pieces lined up, but sooner or later, I might pin it again to cease the minky from sliding around. Next step is to take away all these dang pins and switch it right side out.
Top stitch completeLooks good from the back too.At this point you may be accomplished. If you're, congratulations in your cute new blanket! If your blanket is smaller, this won't be a concern. Top stitch all the way in which around. As I stitched, the minky kept wanting to shift past the edge of the front piece.
